Sweet words for SWEET DREAMS, WILD ANIMALS! from School Library Journal:
“This mix of bedtime sleepytime verses and interesting content makes for an enjoyable two for one.”
Coordinated with the release of my latest children’s picture book, download and print a copy of my 7-page Activity Guide for your young reader to use! You’ll find crafts, a snack recipe, baseball stretching exercises, vocabulary and rhyming activities, a baseball family tree, and a maze challenge! Just go to the Handouts page of the website to find educational handouts and activity guides for my books. Enjoy!
After this record-setting winter, I’m ready to welcome spring later this month. What better way to forget shoveling snow and bundling up in sub-zero temperatures than to think of opening day and baseball season. Perfect timing for my latest release, Ballpark! This children’s picture book for young listeners and readers ages 4-8 is now available at on-line retailers. Batter up!
I have more exciting news to share. I recently signed a contract for a 3rd picture book for young readers (ages 4-8). Sweet Dreams, Walrus! will be published by Mountain Press. We don’t have a publication date quite yet. This book combines my passion for unearthing interesting facts to share with kids and my love of writing in rhyme – it’s the perfect creative combination for me. This book will introduce young readers to unique animal sleep facts in a bedtime storybook format.
This spring has been busy and productive. My first nonfiction picture book, Who’s Faster? Animals on the Move, is in the final stages of production before going to the printer. At the same time, I am gearing up my marketing efforts and designing programs for school visits.
My second picture book, Ballpark, which will be published by Amazon Publishing in Spring 2014, is now in the hands of the Art Director as the search begins for the right illustrator! I can’t wait to learn more about who will illustrate this story that is near and dear to my heart. Visiting major league ballparks has been a favorite excursion in my family for years. Who doesn’t enjoy a day with family and friends at the ballpark?
