Great fun! In early June I participated as a member of a debut author panel at the Chicago Tribune’s Printer’s Row Lit Fest. What a thrill and a delight to share my story with folks attending the festival. Here’s a photo of our panel:

Left to right: Our group included Tom Watson, author of STICK DOG. He shared his amazingly fast journey to publication and his inspirational story as an” accidental author” – his tale is quite unique. Nancy Cavanaugh told us about her path, which was filled with interesting twists and turns, finally culminating in the release of her middle grade book, THIS JOURNAL BELONGS TO RATCHET.  Demitria Lunetta is currently awaiting publication of her  YA novel, IN THE AFTER, which will be released later this month. And I shared details about being published first in the magazine market and then selling my NF Picture Book, WHO’S FASTER? ANIMALS ON THE MOVE, to Mountain Press.  We’ve each had surprising and different experiences; one thing I know for sure — there are many varied paths to publishing in children’s literature!
