Local Literacy Initiative - Delighted to Take Part

In September 2023, the Jacksonville, Florida Public Library Foundation celebrated the launch of a new Pre-K Literacy Program. (In the works for 18 months behind the scenes.)

I wrote a rhyming ABC Book for this local program, and it was illustrated by talented artist Don Toht. (There are 8 books  in each bundle given to young learners as they get their FIRST  library card, with a few more books to be added next spring.)

​Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan was on hand to help launch the program, which puts over 8000 literacy backpacks in the hands of 4 year old preschoolers this year! Wonderful!  #LiteracyRocks
